You are not alone
Many reverts search for a spouse without Muslim family around them. It can feel lonely, and it does not make your search any less valid.
Finding a wali
If you have no Muslim male relative who can act as your wali, an imam or a trusted mosque can take on this role. On Amaanah you can name an imam or mosque, and we check this ourselves.
Your family
Your parents may not understand your choices, and they are still your parents. Treat them with kindness and tell them about your plans in a way they can understand.
Be open about your journey
Tell the other person how long you have been Muslim, what you are learning and where you could use support. A good spouse will be happy to walk that road with you.
This is general guidance, not a religious ruling. For your own situation, please ask a qualified imam or scholar.
