Why are there no photos?
To protect each other's privacy and haya. You judge someone by who they are. A meeting with the wali present comes later, outside the platform.
What exactly does the wali do?
The wali confirms his email, accepts his role and sends us a code on WhatsApp. We only contact him when there is a match. His email holds a code that, with her date of birth, lets him read that conversation. He can then still end the match.
How do the messages work?
After a request is accepted you each get three free messages, taking turns. Then you each choose yes or no, separately. The wali of the sister can follow the conversation from the start. Only if you both say yes does the brother receive the wali's contact details. You can be in one conversation at a time.
Who can be my wali?
Your father, grandfather, brother, son or uncle. If you have no Muslim family, for example because you are a revert, an imam or trusted mosque can take this role. We check this ourselves.
What does a request cost?
A request costs one credit. Accepting or declining is always free. If there is no reply within 14 days, you get your credit back.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time in your settings. Found someone? You can also close your account as married.
